what the hell is a zine?
As defined by our trusted friend Wikipedia, a zine (“zeen”) is a small-circulation self-published work that, historically, have provided community for individuals or groups through the ability to express and pursue common ideas and subjects. Zines can vary from anything to an abstract collection of images, an artist portfolio, political opinion pieces, comics, poetry, social theory, or even explicit content ;). We curators have noticed an abundant amount of artistic talent, especially locally here in Laramie, but this talent goes mostly unrecognized. The goal of the Prairie Fire Zine is to extend an outlet for young artists, poets, and other voices to make their work known in this cheap or free publication. But we can’t do it without your work! So if you have a submission of any kind, send it to our email! As always, if you have any questions, don’t be afraid to email/DM us.
Much love and happy art-ing,
PFZ
